Medplexus launches Saas-based suite of solutions
MedPlexus, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based provider of Internet-based administrative, financial and clinical software and services for physician practices, has announced the general availability of its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) suite of solutions, which include practice management software, electronic health records (EHRs) and browser-based patient self-service portal. The solution also includes SaaS-enabled services for billing, front-office call management and practice audit and accounting services.
Emdeon renews EDI Services deal with Aetna
Emdeon Business Services of Nashville, Tenn. has renewed its EDI Services agreement with Aetna. Under the agreement, which runs through September 2010, Emdeon will continue to provide the core set of HIPAA transactions, and the two companies will collaborate to accelerate the adoption of Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and Electronic Coordination of Benefit (eCOB) claims. “Given Aetna’s market leadership in supporting electronic connectivity within the healthcare provider community, we are very pleased to continue and extend our relationship which covers more than 20 years,” said Gary Stuart, Emdeon’s executive vice president.
Kepro awarded contract for Tenncare appeals
The Keystone Peer Review Organization, Inc. of Harrisburg, Pa. has been awarded the TennCare medical appeals services contract. KePRO will be responsible for rendering professional opinions as to whether recipient appeals satisfy applicable clinical and legal requirements of medical necessity, as defined by the Bureau of TennCare, Tennessee’s Medicaid managed care program, which provides health coverage for 1.2 million low-income children, pregnant women and disabled Tennessee residents.
OCS releases additions to PPS Impact program
OCS, Inc. of Seattle has enhanced its PPS Impact program in response to the release of the final changes to the Home Health Prospective Payment System (HH PPS) by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. New additions include Patient Analysis Indicator (patient and agency data modeling calculator), Snapshot (executive analysis of key profitability and reimbursement measures), five new Dashboards and Toolkit, a package of patient subset reports and financial calculators pre-populated with agency data to build “what if” scenarios for modeling and planning.
